Welcome to our Third Annual Dogs Deserve Better Calendar, which gets rave reviews by everyone who buys or reads it. This year will prove itself no different! We had a great time choosing our cover model this year, thanks to your votes. Chia, pictured above, was our winner with 162 votes, Sonny was a close second, with 141 votes, and Douwe was third with 95 votes. All of our calendar cover model contestants will appear somewhere within our calendar, so never fear, they will still get their time to shine!!

We are the only calendar to focus solely on chained and penned dog rescue stories, so don't miss out! This year's theme is FREEDOM, and every model features his/her own Freedom saying to go along with the photo.Our stories are vibrant, our photos are gorgeous and fun . . . The calendar is full color throughout, and features stories of 28 rescued dogs, each different, each heart-warming, each happy-ending. Full-page stories are complete with before and after photos, while bottom stories feature smaller, after photos with a story.

Chia Akita was rescued in Indiana by DDB reps Marie Belanger and Jamie Oswalt at the ripe old age of 10 after living chained and/or penned (both at different periods) for her entire life. She was transported to Tammy in Pennsylvania to be fostered, but there she proved to be a bit too frisky for the kitty population. Luckily, we were very blessed to find her a foster/home in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, where she is now happy and loved, and spending her last days inside as part of a family with Chris and Lexi. In fact, we hear that Chris is complaining that Chia is now getting all the lovin'! In fact, we've recently gotten this photo of Chia with her new mom, Lexi, and Lexi wrote the most touching report: "Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones. I just wanted to thank you for bringing Chia into our lives. She is the light in my life. Every morning I can not wait to see her cute little face. She is just simply wonderful. I just wanted you to know that I love her like she has been with me all her life. When I am sad she makes me happy and she always makes me feel loved.I just wanted to send you a picture that Christopher sent me two weeks ago. Isn’t she beautiful?"

The calendar also features 14 Months as opposed to the normal 12, and includes December 2007, for you early birds, and January 2009, for those of us who procrastinate about buying a new one, or getting it hung up once we have it.

Education can and does work with many people! Even when we don't see immediate payoff for our efforts, rest assured we are making progress, one educational block at a time.
